Camera Recorder

Camera RecorderHow do I connect an analog video recorder to my old PC?

I have an old Sony video camera recorder, using Hi8 video, the only link available is a video / audio jacks, I would like to connect the camera to my computer for editing old videos. How do I do?

I hope you are in the United Kingdom, because here's another link - http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specp ...

I heard good things about the Dazzle converter device K and the world, but I avoid TV cards at low prices - the quality tends to be very poor. If you have a large number of bands and you want the best quality possible, take a look at the Canopus ADVC range. Cheap, but very respected.

You can buy an adapter from Argos £ 39.99

or try this for £ 17.51

You need a PCI video / TV card with video capture facility - Look on Ebay for Leadtek - VC100 XP or higher The board supports the older style phono plug TPE and S-video input - the software is easy to use - cost approximately £ 10

I use the analog dazzle, it also comes with editing software well. my old video camera no longer works, so I connected a VCR to glare. Unfortunately when converting analog to digital you lose some quality. I have many old family films, I was converting. I say you lose some quality, but this could be the degradation of old VHS tapes. They do not last forever and mine is 15 years.
