MarketplaceConstruction Safety Videos Be smart and Construction Safety Training Videos Use of employees There are many hidden dangers on construction sites. construction employers must comply with OSHA standards and ensure that everyone working on the sites are compliant. This poses a problem for both employers and employees. From the perspective of the employer, training becomes an additional cost in terms of time and money. Thus, their goal is to identify the method most effective training that would save them the most time and money. As for employees, through training, is being able to remember the lessons taught effectively. And the most effective way to do so is to rely on more than two words and sounds. What does this mean? Relying on words alone means that lessons are theoretical in nature. But people tend to forget what they read very quickly. Moreover, without direct experience, words can be prone to misinterpretation, which creates more problems for employees. In addition, not everyone can read. And some employees would do anything to get out of the hook of having to memorize something pounds. The other way to learn is to rely on sounds. This means that listening to cassettes, audio CDs, or in the era of digital MP3 audio files. Listening can be a bit more efficient because the repetition is possible. The messages can be delivered to the learner and over again without the trainer having to be physically present to teach. This will help employees keep more of what they learn. But the most effective method is to learn both visually and audibly. This is the closest thing to reproduce the actual scenario in the real world. Learning from videos is a great way to send a message with less distortion. For example, an employee could be watching a video on preventing back injuries, and can actually see for himself what to do and what not to do. In addition, the videos are helpful because workers can now learn as and when they want, and do not have to attend classes regularly. They can watch videos during breaks, weekends, at home or traveling. And as digital audio files, they can watch as many times as they wish until they remember all the lessons. It's a good thing for employers as well because the goal is achieved with minimal cost. The same series of training videos can be shared with other employees, and reused again and again until the information is still valid. Professional trainers are of course always necessary, but in the absence of human trainers, the videos are the next best training resources. So the next time the subject of training comes to mind, think about how video can benefit you and your organization. Be smart and use videos for training construction workers.
