Is it possible for a wireless security system to cause interference with other remotes? recently had a security system on my house that uses wireless sensors. in less than a week, my remote for my cable box and digital TV does not work as they should. I must be on a foot or so away from the cable box so that it works and when it works only for a few seconds. Replaced cable box remote with a new and always the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated on what to do or who to call.
no
cable TV and remote user infra-red, which require line-of-site. Security systems use a wireless RF technology, so its completely different. Perhaps your security system could mess with your wireless phone or wireless Internet network, but your TV / cable can not be linked.
what you describe is similar to what can happen when the battery is low on the remote sensors are partially covered ... Check and make sure you have good new brand batteries (Duracell, Energizer), and use a little Windex Maby on a paper towel on the front of the remote, they generally have a very dark red surface, that transmitter is behind, and it must be clean ... Then find the area of your TV and cable box and make sure there is nothing in the way of them, and clean with towel / Windex
I do not think he can play with remote cable box or television.
We do, however, have problems with the security system to play with our garage remote. It will not work if you try to pull in the garage because there was a camera in the alley. We called the company opened gargage, it did not help all, we ended up having to not use the remote.
