Hello, there are two ways to do so.
IP Cameras
----------------
1) A wired IP camera can cost as little as £ 69 / £ 99 each from Panasonic
2) These cameras and your PC to connect to a router to combine all ingredients. If the IP cameras have PoE (Power over Ethernet), make sure you buy a switch / router with an entry point that is much easier to install. The router or switch conenction to your broadband modem.
3) If you do not have POE on cameras, you need to buy a power supply for cameras
4) Software usually comes with IP cameras that allows you to simultaneously watch and record video as well as access to the Internet.
Standard System
--------------------------
1) You will need standard cameras
2) A box that accepts standard cameras and can conenction to your PC via USB. See http://www.grandtec.com/prod05.htm
3) The box allows you to watch and record video on your PC and Internet access
4) You'll need cables and a power supply for cameras
