Full home automation? My goal is complete and total home automation. Anything that can in theory be automated, I want automated. Think Tony Starks House of Iron Man. Everywhere on the web where I can find DIY plans, or something of that type. I'm a complete beginner, and it seems like a fun project that eat about a years worth of free time. Thank you pour votre aide.
Most systems out there that will do what you want to do this are available only through brokers.
Most of them require a programmer. It depends on how automated you want, and what you want to spend.
The best system is still there Crestron, it is not cheap it will automate everything. Requires a certified Crestron programmer.
Elan is a very good system, it takes a new programmer, a little less expensive, then Crestron and not as cool and as sophisticated as Crestron.
For some functions such as lighting and Crestron Elan again it will take longer manufactured. For Lutron is still the best control of both lighting and Crestron and Elan can control systems control Lutron. Crestron has apparently it's own lighting control system now does not know how good it is really everyone I know to make the lighting system Hi-end is still using Lutron.
The new kid on the block is relatively inexpensive and is not bad control 4. Now, it wont do anything, but for most people its very good. Requires no real programming, so you can simply add each piece as you go and looks and works very well.
Very important for the purchase authorized dealer, a person who has been around for a while, and has years of experience make these systems. Go to a dealer who can do the system properly and not try to piecemeal it together you have problems and everyone is pointing fingers at each other. These are complex systems and the need for a merchant to ensure that the system is so professionally.
Regarding the audio-video again you can buy from a dealer hello-good end, they have much better choice of equipment and knowledge to ensure that everything works well together and sounds good in room.
Good luck, any questions feel free to ask

Best.
You will not see all the manuals on how to make this project of yours. It also depends on the budget you want to spend. There is a retail store in the spectrum are high-end that can do for your home. They sit with you and design your dream system on the budget you have in mind. Forget discount or the cost of each item they will use. You can find a list of some retail stores in the back of Home Theater Magazine or your local yellow pages. He did not display room price tags. Some places are only by appointment. Most of all you will not find brand like Vizio or any negotiation price low point in this store. Sometimes you can see a photo of the house with home theater set up on Home Theater Magazine, again it will not explain the cost of the system at home. Hopefully this will help you.
