Extrication Equipment

A rescue operation or a vehicle extrication refers to the process of removing a victim from a vehicle after a traffic accident. The clearing procedure takes place when the conventional means of exit from a vehicle are damaged and a successful operation will be assigned to the attention of rescuers, skills, equipment and response.

If the victim is immobilized on the floor, it must be rolled onto the backboard newspaper. This is a very complicated maneuver that requires training by professionals and it usually takes three or more persons to perform this maneuver safely.

When the victim is lying on his back, a person must take the victim's head with both hands on either side of the head and make sure it stays. Other rescuers should position themselves in the abdominal area and around the feet.

While maintaining control cord, the three rescuers roll the victim on his side, instead of the stretcher and the victim's lower back on the stretcher.
