Fire Rescue GearDog Rescues - save a dog

It is really sad to think of how many dogs are put to sleep because they are beaten, abused or simply unwanted. These include a large number of dogs that are pets and excellent companions for someone. When you do get a dog, why not consider some of these poor animals that are intended to die if no one saves.

Many dogs are mistreated by their owners for lack of care (not enough food or water, even) or by simple neglect (just bound and left in a backyard and forgotten). These poor creatures are starving, not only for essential food and water, but for the company as well. Sometimes the locals see these neglected animals care and the report of the owner to the SPCA or other animal body.

In severe cases, the SPCA will take the animals away and try to rehabilitate them to become adoptable. Sometimes animals can be saved in this way, but too often dogs are beyond help and are tragically shelved. The SPCA has only so much funding and resources for these poor neglected creatures. They can not do a fraction of what really needs to be done to help these animals.

Dog rescue work in much the same way in that they attempt to rehabilitate the dogs to become adoptable and try to find homes for them, but they are often specific breed. For example, there are rescue dogs that are specifically for boxers or pit bulls or any other specific breed.

A type of rescue dog you may not know is about to Greyhound dogs. Usually the dogs are bred for racing. When they get older and can not run as fast, or start losing races, these dogs are often discarded by owners because they are no longer profitable. A rescue dog suitable for Greyhounds will take these animals in their care and try to find a suitable home for them.

Other dogs will rescue animals that have been abused and are a bit handicapped. The SPCA often will not be able to find homes for these types of dogs, because most people do not want the trouble of looking after an animal that may need a little more care. Dog Rescue to help find homes for these animals and disabled. There was recently the case of a blind boxer who needed a home and a dog rescue center Boxer was able to place him in a loving family. If this family did not ensure that the dog, he may have been euthanized. Instead, he is able to live a good life with a family that has acquired a beautiful girlfriend.

If you are considering a dog, you can take a look at the dog rescue in your area. Often, you'll be able to get a breed of dog you like (for much less money than pay for a purebred puppy). You get a loving pet and you will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you have probably saved the life of a dog.
