Effective leadership from senior management is a key component of safety culture because it determines how everyone in the organization view and act on security issues.

Unfortunately, security management is not an area that excites many executives and managers.

Participate in security issues tends to be regarded as something which is required by the legislature, is boring and not very glamorous at "attached to it, rather than something that will be seen to contribute to profit and competitiveness. Perhaps security reasons they are levied on the old-fashioned image, the corporate security initiatives are too often delegated to middle managers and subordinates, with the result that executives tend to become even less involved in Management of security (ie "I managed to washed its hands of this problem!).
