(April 2007) A firefighter and assist the research team (FAST), also known as a Rapid Intervention Team / Crew (RIT / RIC), is a team of two or more firefighters dedicated solely to research and rescue firefighters distress. FAST has no further operational duty during an incident. Multiple alarm fires may require several FAST / RIC teams. Through the late 1960s and early 1970s, the London Fire Brigade has introduced procedures using RIT EATL (lines of emergency transfer of air) and ease of emergency (Air Supply Equipment). He was appointed research firefighter and rescue teams (called emergency crews ") parked in a SCBA (SCBA) points of entry control, equipped with an emergency breathing apparatus specifically designed to be worn by unconscious firefighters injured or trapped. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have requirements for a certain type of FAST / RIT structure fire. Those standards require that a minimum of two firefighters standing in their entirety by the personal protective equipment while other crews are working in a hazardous atmosphere. Standards are the result of a series of incidents where firefighters were lost, trapped, or disoriented while fighting against a structure fire without the presence of FAST. The FAST concept is not universal, with many agencies of fire protection training in all rescue personnel. Rescue teams are so designated based on the order unit by sending an appeal in which standard operating procedures (SOPs) requiring rescue teams will be held at entry points. This is the basic concept of the "two-in, two out" rule. Note: While all these versions of the name for a rescue team of firefighters, or have been used or continue to be used in several areas, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) has determined that rapid intervention crew "RIC" will be the standard term. Currently, the U.S. federal government has training programs, the DHS and FEMA are in the process of standardization of terms and procedures under NIMS. Equipment FAST FAST members are normally equipped with some or all of the following: full turnout gear Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) Personal Alert System Security Device (PASS) portable radio that uses frequency Fireground and is available to the incident commander Hand Tools light hand Search rope or webbing Rapid Air Transport (RAT) bag that slips over a bottle SCBA and holds an additional mask to tap into the bottle to provide a firefighter shot with air. This so-called RIT Bag was invented by Darrin Shaw, a firefighter with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue. The term "RIT Bag" is now widely used, but the mark remains with RIT bag Puyallup, WA. v, d, e Fight against fire Staff The fire chief firefighter fires Fire Master Fire Assist and Search Team Police and Fire Handcrews Helitack Hotshots Smokejumper station agent's Volunteer Fire Department Facilities Campfire Fire lookout tower Fire Service College Fire Station Equipment Glossary of fire fighting equipment against fire bunker gear firefighters Escape president of the Fire Chief's Vehicle Fire Extinguisher Hose Fire Hydrant flame retardant to pass Fire Station hard suction hose timer heat detector list fireproof Nomex Rescue PASS pumper ARA Siren Fire Alarm Costume Splash Super Scooper thermal imaging camera Terminology Glossary of terms of fighting against fire Glossary of terms of forest fire fighting air cons fires Dead Man Zone Project Class Fire Fire co.
