Help surveillance camera? I just received a surveillance camera (first alert 550) and now that night has fallen the photo quality is bad .. its gray and shows nothing. on the manual, it says it should be on how night vision (infrared LED) to work at night, but how do I turn this light on?
Hello, there are a few reasons:
1) on the night vision devices, in the dark, you get a grainy picture anyway, especially with low-cost models ..
2) If you have a night vision camera with infrared LED, check to see if they are coming in the dark, you should see a red light trick. If you can not see them, then it is likely that the IR LED is defective or not working
3) If you do not have IR LEDs, then the camera will not be able to see anything in the dark, you will need a little light.
4) Sorry to burst your bubble, but the camera is simply not good enough for effective night vision anyway, if the vision in the dark is important is the purpose of CCTV camera,
As a society, we have used many types of night vision cameras, socks or cameras that are not dedicated to night vision surveillance cameras will always perform poorly.
