Flip Video Camera

The Flip Video (2 GB version) says it has a 2x zoom. Can you zoom while video?

How a Flip Video camera better than a standard digital camera (which takes the video)? The resolution appears to be the same ..

Does anyone have experience with the Flip camera?

The original resolution for the Flip is probably the same, but it is created specifically for video, while your camera is not. This means that the auto-focus fly, real-time adjustments to the lighting conditions, etc. If you are concerned about the resolution, consider one of the top models offering up to a resolution of 720p (Flip Mino is an excellent choice). They are also incredibly easy to use and you do not need a cord (USB connector just returns - hence the name - on the right side of the camera.

I have a high-end digital SLR (Nikon D3) and I always use my Flip all the time. It is very convenient, and takes great video for the price.

And in response to the poster below - there is a significant difference between cameras that are primarily intended to take still images, and those for the video. This declaration applies to all levels.

There is really no difference, they say just because they want people to believe that if they can sell their products. :]
