Motion Detection Technology

Motion Detection TechnologyWould motion detector technology work with LED lighting in the street?

Leaving the issue of safety aside, would it cost to have LED street lights "turn-on" only when motion is detected?
Or would there be a problem with the existence of frequently repeating cycles --- too many "offs and ons"? If possible, do the savings are substantial, over, say --- LED without motion detection?

Is an interesting idea. I'm sure if the idea is profitable and economically will be. This would save a bundle and reduce light pollution greatly.

YES. The LED lights will be fine with a motion detection equipment. I installed an LED floor on both sides of my house. Was 2 years and no problem. Just as neighbors and wish them

I welcome questions about the lights. I am the owner. Report Abuse

LEDs are not yet profitable. They are too expensive. That may change in the future, but for now they have no economic sense.

lights But you do not need to use LED motion detection sensor. normal incandescent lamps will work for that. They would not have the life that LEDs would be under the bike well, but it might work. However, I think the problem with motion detection with street lights, is security. City officials, I am sure would rather have the constant glare of public safety, and practically there may be a problem with ensuring that the lamps reliably the direction of oncoming cars hiking.
