Motion Detector Circuit

Motion Detector CircuitWhat type of motion sensor Home Security Is Right For Me?

The motion sensor is the home security system where the whole house security is enabled. These are the "input" points for the entire system. They initiate signals that result in the alert or alarm triggered. These sensors are available in a variety of types and are based on various technologies. Frankly, the choice of suitable sensors is a critical step in planning your security system.

Magnetic
These are the most common sensors in home security and are used as door and window alarms. The device is installed so that a circuit is created when the door or window is closed. Once opened, the circuit is broken and the security system is triggered.

Infrared
Motion sensors are the second most common sensors in security systems at home and infrared sensors are the most frequently used. Sometimes called PIR (passive infrared) sensors, they are able to detect the heat produced by the body. The cheapness and reliability of this sensor has been standard in most security systems.

Shock (or broken glass)
More commonly known as sensors of broken glass, these actually detect the shock wave created by breaking a window. These devices are also known as "acoustic" or "his" detectors. Often they are used as a monitor for unnecessary magnetic sensors mentioned above.

Dual Tech
One of the challenges of motion detectors just pets. How these sensors discriminate between movement of a person and that of a dog or a cat? Dual Tech sensors combine infrared with microwave technology (below) and are better able to be set to ignore the movement of animals.

Microwave
These sensors emit microwave energy to detect motion. Some properties of the microwave energy can not suited to most home applications (such as penetration through the walls to pick up the movement in other parts). Most often it is seen as an automatic door sensor that you have seen in many companies.

Ultrasonic
These sensors are active (emit a high frequency) or passive (detection of sounds). These sensors are among the most sensitive and therefore among the most expensive. They are not used in applications such as residential.

The purpose of detectors in the house all the movements of the security is first detect motion, then send a signal to the control panel which in turn triggers the appropriate alarm (siren, bell, light a phone call, etc.) The most common combination of sensors in a standard security system are magnetic and infrared sensors.
