College of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences is the foundation of the curriculum of Niagara University and serves as the basis for its designation as a liberal arts college. All Niagara students complete part of their courses at the College of Arts and Sciences, as many general education courses are housed within this unit.
The majority of university departments of Niagara and teachers are housed in the arts and sciences, including: Biochemistry / Chemistry, Biology / life sciences, communications, computers, criminal justice, English, history, international studies, arts liberals, mathematics, modern languages, nursing, political science, philosophy, psychology, religious studies, sociology, social sciences, social work, and theater studies.
The College of Arts and Sciences also offers an MBA in both criminal justice and interdisciplinary studies.
On October 8, 2008, Niagara University has announced a gift of $ 10 million, the largest gift in the history of the university, had been made to the College of Arts and Sciences B. Thomas Golisano, CEO of Paychex and owner of the Buffalo Sabres. The donation will fund a new science building to be known as the Centre B. Thomas Golisano for science. The project should be completed by 2011.
College of Business
With programs in accounting, business administration and commerce, the College of Business continues to improve academic performance at local, regional and national levels. Each year, students of the College of Business Conduct tax treatment of the declaration as a community service for area residents.
On January 23, 2006, the University has announced a donation of $ 5 million College of Business graduate Gerald Bisgrove, the class of 1968. College of Education
Niagara has a longstanding commitment to training teachers for K-12 schools. Education students major in the College of Education and choose a concentration in the College of Arts and Sciences. training of students takes place in area schools, many of which are located in rural or low-income urban neighborhoods.
College of Hospitality and Tourism Management
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Niagara's newest, is an offshoot of earlier tourism programs at the university. The College is offering courses on tourism, hotel, restaurant, leisure, recreation and management. Many students supplement their classroom experience with internships in local hotels and luxury hotels around the world. In addition, the College offers a study abroad program popular in Lake Como, Italy.
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management is ranked 6th in the nation among programs of hospitality. In recent years, graduates have a rate of nearly-100% placement. faculty members from around the world and most hold the terminal degree in their field. The college is located in the upper floors of the hotel's newly refurbished St Vincent, which features an atrium of the modern and spectacular views of the Gorge of Niagara River and Canada. However, the beauty of the room should not be primary objective of the school.
The College is also a founding member of The Leading Hotel Schools of the World, a partnership between 9 hotel schools around the world with The Leading Hotels of the World. This partnership allows students from Niagara privilege of training in a direction that the 450 five-star hotels around the world.
