Osha Safety

Osha SafetyWhat are the advantages and disadvantages of OSHA safety laws for construction sites?

I know this is a stupid question, but my homework was to find with 25 pros and 25 cons of security laws of the OSHA construction sites, and I can not think of any disadvantages other than the cost and time consumption. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disadvantages: If you are not involved in the rules of the regulatory process can be difficult to implement especially for new technologies (nanotechnology). Now they (OSHA) are a little better communicate, but the interpretation of the law to your situation used to be horrible.
Cons break on the cost of training costs, the cost of injury by having to comply with OSHA guidelines in first aid medical treatment vs. the cost PPE for employees, signs and notification are enormous costs on a construction site startup costs for monitoring equipment to track employees in case of emergency evacuation, in time for the required training, safety for the site (the employer must provide a workplace free of known hazards 5 (a)), the cost of employees who manage the OSHA elements (legal, HSE, Quality, Admin, Training)

Advantages: finish the job (OSHA Each rule is written in the blood), the enrichment and improvement of workers, there is a parallel cost and drawbacks of each charge is a pro and security, for example "He is a Con at first, but that employees feel comfortable in their various fields of activity studies show that they produce more goods. In fact, you can always look osha.gov eg 2008 5.071 workers died following a workplace fatality, OSHA before with fewer staff we have killed about 14,000 per year, so there is a percent reduction shown on the OSHA website.

Hope this helps

saves the company workers comp claim, and the absence of injured. not to mention preventing deaths. one drawback is having to listen to employees complain to wear PPE

Wow - I am shocked that a teacher asks you to come with the "cons" of laws protecting workers. It is really disappointing. Most of these laws are written in blood - and are not there to be a pain in the rear of construction companies.

While there may be drawbacks, like a little extra planning and a little more time devoted to the protection against falling anchor installation, etc., more than offset by savings on model of worker insurance against injury, and workers have lost against injury, training new employees, etc. When a worker approaches you and tells you that their lives have been saved by wearing a harness and runs in a fall, or their eyes were saved by wearing safety glasses when a ricocheting nails, or their hearing has been saved by wearing earplugs when using a saw, or they have yet fingers after using a guard on a table saw, the perception of a "cons" simply not on.

I could not find 25 "cons" if I wanted. Your teacher is a program that does not promote employee safety or health, I suppose. If I were a parent, I would be in their office to ask pointed questions. It's like asking: "What are the disadvantages of rules of conduct? At almost useless to ask these same kinds of questions.

Wow ... asking students to find 25 "cons". Simply amazing.
