Professional Video Camera

Professional Video CameraWhat is a good professional camera to use for videography?

I'm looking for a camera to buy to start my own video company. There are so many professional cameras there, I want to get opinions on what the camera is standard. Thank you!

A real professional quality camcorder and not a device that happens to take highly compressed video, and mono-only audio and no microphone input and manual audio control?

The short list of characteristics should include:
system of lenses over 40mm in diameter.
Audio-through (s) and manual audio control.
Manual zoom, manual focus, manual shutter speed, white balance manually, and other controls outside of the unit and easily accessible.
least amount of compression applied to video streams when writing the storage medium.

The starting point that meets the four criteria is the Sony HDR-FX1000, but it is only semi-professional ... Pro begins his class at the Sony HVR-V1U, HVR-Z1U, HVR-Z5U, HVR-Z7U, Canon XHA1 and Panasonic AG-HVX200 and JVC GY series ... And they go from here.

Other items to consider:

Tripods (Bogen-Manfrotto is a good start - the nominal weight must be at least 2x the weight of your camera, with a fluid head).

High capacity battery pack or two (in the camcorder manufacturer, not third parties).

rugged case to protect your investment (Pelican and SKB are my favorites).

Micros. It gets really subjective - but a minimum of a shotgun microphone, LAV diversity UHF wireless stereo microphone. Of course, if you still have your sound person with you, they, they could provide these elements.

Cables. A 50-foot extension cable AC, two 25-foot XLR cables externsion microphone.

Depending on the level of things to do:

Objectives: wide angle and tele ... Perhaps tele macro.

Filters.

video light.

Belt Battery video light - if sized appropriately, which could replace the large capacity rechargeable battery.

Keep devices ... SpiderBrace shoulder or other editing system. Glidecam / vest Steadycam system.

LANC.

Depending on the level of things to do:

crane camera (I prefer them Kessler + tripod and head). This feeds a bunch of cables (LANC extension, a video monitor, audio monitor) Accessories AMD (monitor, counter, etc..). So if you subscribe to the wheels tripod Kessler or need something like their options dolly or do something else ... and of course, the remote control pan-tilt head ...

This list is incomplete - but I've never had ... I guess I never asked.

++++++++++++++

And a fast computer with lots of RAM and tons of free disk space on external drives (at least not use the same drive as the boot operating system files video editing project) ... and a good size monitor (20 inches or more).

Canon and Nikon, in my opinion have pictures and video quality

If you talk real business, not just a hobby, your primary concern should be "the product with my customers need." Most filmmakers are making their money from DVD products. To do this, the compression standard definition and low is best for the source format, which means miniDV or quasi-professional, ie DVcam. If you intend to shoot weddings and other ceremonies throughout, then a DV camera that takes size is desirable. In sports, a camera that is rugged and compact, which may be closer to the action is the Ticket. Most sports do not go to Full Tilt for more 1:00 to 1:00 or 60 minutes miniDV good work. There are responsible for other people's money for a videographer to serve, the point is, your camera should be adjusted to achieve plans. Many so-called professional cameras are really designed to shoot a reporter standup to television news, is that your business model?
