Residential Security Cameras

Residential Security CamerasIs it legal to have security cameras in residential construction where signs are to inform people?

Nothing SICK! We want to keep building, we have safer and the camera only survey that comes in and outside the main gate. Is this legal? Or is it legal if we put a sign up telling people they were on video surveillance?

Not a problem and you do not even need to post signs if the cameras are in plain sight, ie the side of the building in the parking lot at or above the door.

You can also get dummy cameras that seem real but are not really cameras. They run about $ 15 compared to the real deal.

An infrared camera with a good color will take about $ 200. Get a couple of real and then sprinkle with a few models around the property.

Then you have a monitor and a multiplexer (it will run between several cameras and show them on a split screen). It will not be worth darn if you do not register with either a DVR or tape (DVR is better). total system cost is probably around $ 1,000 to do it properly installed.

Please check with your insurance company, because there could be a significant break in your premium.

Yes, the absence of a specific order local / law to the contrary.

It is common practice in many places. Place a screen at the sight of the door. This will ensure everyone knows the camera actually works.

You do not tell anyone. This is a public space, and therefore there is no hope of privacy.

Now, you can not put them in the actual apartments, or shared toilet, but otherwise it's up to you.

CCTV systems (CCTV) is perfectly legal to install in residential buildings as long as it does not affect "personal space", like looking into peoples' apartments.
A camera on the front door is a good idea, make sure you account for the interior lighting and direct lighting coming in the door, do not want to wash the image.
Place a sign is a good idea, it makes people think they are the camera wherever you are!

It is legal if the people have no expectation of privacy. Set up signs is a good idea.

100% legal ... you can not put them in private areas ... toilet ... and apartments.

yeah it's legal, tons of places have security cameras at the entrance to monitor activity. Just check your local laws for the process, you need to follow to do so. You can not put them in the actual apartments.
