4.0 out of 5 Good, but not fast enough, August 3, 2008
By fitzage (Tucson) - See all my reviews
I used the Merkur Super blades for some time, and they were OK, but they compare well with the Feather blades. The feathers are more distinct to allow a closer shave with less irritation.
I decided to give these 4 stars because I found nothing that beats other than the pen.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must for your Merkur razor, shaving and Sharp, June 30, 2008

not much to say other than you need for your razor Merkur these. They are very sharp, and give you an amazing shave. If you're new Merkur double edged razor, start slow and with short strokes, shave with the grain of your face. Switch to the other side of the blade after each pass, and rinse with warm water, then do it again. You'll become a pro in no shaving time, and I wonder how you shave your whole life without them. Keep extra blades packed in their original packaging, and outside of the bathroom, as in a cupboard until you need to use them.
4.0 out of 5 happy with these blades, June 10, 2009

So far, this is my second favorite shaving blades. (My favorite is the Swedish Gillette.). They kept their lead better than most others I tried, they are sharp enough to give a close shave satisfactorily, and so far I have not experienced irritation of the skin of their use.

1.0 out of 5 One of the worst January 29, 2009

Because these blades are so widely available, most men who start using a safety razor double-edged use these blades. I did. I chalked razor burn to the inexperience of my new razor and I tried many new shaving creams, pre-shave oil, and even facial cleansers. It was not until I started using different blades that I realized how Merkur blades are. Now years on, I can honestly say that this is about the worst slides DE. In fact, for me, there is only one blade which is worse - fortunately they are not widely available. My advice is to continue to try new blades - shaving cream is not good compensate bad blade.

1.0 out of 5 stars Suddenly, I found an appreciation of disposables!, July 23, 2009
By Alesia
These blades are the worst. They are dull before you can shave one leg and shave they give is far from easy. Some performance problems may be related to the razor itself, but I doubt any style would be responsible for a dull blade in record time.

5.0 out of 5 Best razor blades for Merkur, February 18, 2008
A. Fear (Austin, TX)
If you've ever thought about using a safety razor, you're on the right track. I tried all kinds of razor there: disposable, electric, Mach V, either. Each of them has ever cut my skin, left the razor burn, and my skin has bumps.
This Christmas, my wife bought my Proraso, Merkur safety razor, blades and those after his research and I must say that I will never go back. This is the best way to shave down there. This is not as convenient as disposable blades, but your skin will thank you. I had zero razor burn or bumps on the skin since December so bye bye alternatives cheap for me.
