Are there a way to recover the sound from a Samsung camera without the AV cable? I have a samsung scl770 that uses 8mm tapes. I can connect the camera via USB and get the video, but audio will not transfer without the AV cable. Is there a way to get a sound without the cable?
Option 1. While the camcorder is connected and recognized, go to the Windows Control Panel, select Sounds and Audio Devices. Click on the audio tab. In the "sound recording", click on the article about the fall of default device in the dropdown menu. Select your camcorder from the dropdown menu (you could say samsung audio device or a camcorder or something funny.)
Option 2. Make sure your video capture program knows that you try to record audio from your camcorder, not the video card. In Windows Movie Maker video capture wizard will give you the opportunity to select your device "audio" from a dropdown menu. Make sure your camcorder has been selected.
Important information: according to the manual SCL-770 camcorder requires an audio cable to be connected between it and the computer to transfer audio. Sorry, buddy.
Your camera is obviously designed in the early days of the USB, where the convenience of USB is not yet fully understood. The output function USB video was probably added to provide users with an inexpensive way to capture their videos on their machines without expensive video capture cards. Do not add a digital to analog converter USB is probably as an economy measure, to hold the camcorder at an affordable price. Once again, my friend Sorry, you must connect two cables, instead of one, until you go all-digital solution.
