Kodak has released a new version of what was their Z18 handheld video camera. This new model they called the ZX3 or PlaySport is really just a twisted version of the Z18 up in a waterproof case.

They made the case strong enough that it can handle rough handling (even falling from a height as small as a few feet) and covered with a blanket of rubber so that it slips from your hand. This is especially of benefit when used for bathing.

In the current range of handheld devices mini this has got be the best set of features and performance.

Some users say they are very happy to say the unit is very Kid is so easy to use and to withstand some rough handling. Personally, I think children should learn to handle equipment with care and respect and not expect that the highly technical and complex equipment should be up to careless handling of dealing with many toys. But I can see these units being given to children as a toy and it is a pity because the unit deserves better than that. It may not be at levels of more expensive equipment performance, but it takes a lot of beautiful pictures that people could only dream a few years ago.

For someone who wants very good snapshots and video of this device is very difficult to beat in performance, quality and affordability.
