They really become a necessity as a security tool for home as it was proved that the chances of dying in a fire are half what they would be if a house has not had a smoke detector. The ready availability of home smoke alarm units began in early 1970 and sales have increased rapidly while the price has declined due to healthy competition among manufacturers. It is estimated that currently about 93% U.S. and 85% of UK homes have at least one smoke detector unit. It is also estimated that at least 30% of these units do not work because the batteries are exhausted or have not been replaced. Smoke alarms are deliberately designed to warn and protect these buildings within accident potential fire hazard. Obviously safety vital to the location of where they are installed is important. The detector units should be installed in rooms and rooms of houses where people sleep or take a rest, also at or near the kitchen. There are two types of households with smoke alarms , photoelectric and type of ions. The alarm type of ions is more sensitive and reacts quickly to hot flames. The type of photoelectric alarm detects fires faster and is more likely to react to the heat of the kitchen when cooking. The two classes of smoke detectors provide protection much good and are widely used. Smoke alarms can operate using a 9 volt battery, which usually lasts about a year. The song of a sensor signals every 20 seconds the need for a battery replacement. Some smoke detectors can be used with the source of household, then it means no need for the battery to be replaced as often. This type of device is "live" in the light means that there is power in the smoke detector. This type of alarm center also has a battery backup in case the power outage.
